The National Examinations Council (NECO) has reaffirmed that the registration deadline for the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal remains unchanged.

Despite rumors circulating on social media, the council has confirmed that the registration period will close on Monday, June 3, 2024, as initially announced.

“We have not extended the closing date for the 2024 SSCE Internal Registration. Late registration, which attracts a late registration fee, is between Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to Monday, June 10, 2024,” said a NECO spokesperson.

In a statement released on Thursday, NECO urged stakeholders to disregard any misinformation suggesting an extension of the registration deadline to June 20, 2024.

The council emphasized that “candidates, school principals, commandants, state ministries of education, and other stakeholders should disregard social media posts purporting that the registration period has been extended to Monday, June 20, 2024.”

The 2024 SSCE Internal examination is scheduled to commence on June 19, 2024, and will conclude on July 26, 2024. Candidates will be assessed in 76 subjects during the examination.

“We are committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient examination process. Candidates and school administrators are advised to plan accordingly and complete the registration process before the deadline to avoid any last-minute challenges,” added the NECO spokesperson.
