The Accord Party has officially informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of a new date for its National Convention.

This change was deemed necessary due to the planned nationwide protest on August 1.

The notification was detailed in a letter titled “Notice of the Change of Date for the National Convention” and signed by the party’s National Chairman, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, and National Secretary, Adebukola A. Ajaja.

The letter referenced an earlier correspondence dated July 20, 2024, stating, “The date of our National Convention, initially scheduled for August 1, 2024, has been changed.” The convention will now be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

The party explained that the adjustment was essential due to the anticipated nationwide protest and other uncontrollable circumstances. They expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and conveyed their highest regard for the commission.
