Ongoing semester examinations in Kwara State Polytechnic have been postponed due to the prevailing Naira scarcity in the country, while the institution has also shut down till after the general elections.

The decision by the management comes following the Wednesday protest at Apata Yakuba and the polytechnic axis over the situation in the country.

In a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba, on Thursday, the students were urged to stay away from the campus between Wednesday, February 15, 2023 and Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Garba said the decision was to make life comfortable and bearable for its students and ensure they didn’t miss any examination due to unforeseen circumstances.

She said it is also in line with the directive from the Federal Ministry of Education to allow students to perform their civic responsibility in safety.
