President Bola Tinubu has once again emphasized his unwavering commitment to repositioning Nigeria and laying the foundation for wealth creation that will benefit generations to come.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West Zone Assembly held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos on Saturday, Tinubu reassured attendees that his focus is not on the 2027 elections but on making Nigeria great for future generations.

The president, represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, acknowledged the economic difficulties currently facing the nation but maintained that the tough decisions taken by his administration are for the greater good.

“Mr President has asked me to tell you that he is not thinking of the next election but the next generation,” Gbajabiamila relayed.

He continued, “The president knows he has made some difficult choices, but he is confident that in time, we will all appreciate the direction he is taking. He sees the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Tinubu, who expressed his deep affection for the Nigerian people, assured that his leadership would continue to prioritize the nation’s progress.

“For every moment in a country, a particular leader is produced for that time. This is the time to produce a leader that is courageous,” he said, stressing his determination to address Nigeria’s diverse challenges with a firm conviction.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who hosted the event in his capacity as chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, also spoke, calling for unity and support for the president’s administration.

“We should strive to forge ahead,” Sanwo-Olu said, urging all party members to rally behind the Tinubu-led government.

Former Ekiti State Governor and keynote speaker, Kayode Fayemi, underscored the importance of cohesion within the South-West APC, noting the party’s historical success.

“I am convinced that APC will remain strong to accomplish the business of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President,” Fayemi stated, urging the party to protect its legacy of unity.

The assembly attracted a significant number of high-ranking officials, including the governors of Ekiti, Ondo, and Ogun states. Also present were notable figures such as former APC interim national chairman, Bisi Akande, and former Ogun State governors Olusegun Osoba and Ibikunle Amosun, alongside other senators, representatives, and key government officials from the South-West.
