Abeokuta residents who subscribe to MTN mobile are experiencing frustration and hardship as they try to retrieve their blocked SIM cards at the MTN offices in the city.

At the MTN offices visited by our correspondent, there were large crowds of subscribers waiting to get their SIM cards restored by the limited staff of MTN. Some subscribers expressed their disappointment and frustration with the situation, calling on MTN to leverage digital platforms to resolve the issue.

“It’s unacceptable to subject millions of Nigerians to days of endless queues to resolve an issue that could be done digitally,” said Olamide Oyedele, a frustrated subscriber.

Another subscriber, Mr. Babatunde Ajayi, lamented how the blocked SIM card, which serves as his business hotline, has affected his business. “I’m demoralized at the moment. I’ve done everything required, but my line is still blocked. I’ve lost so many customers already.”

Subscribers also complained about the disorganization and lack of communication from MTN staff, who were calling them in batches.

“This is ridiculous,” said Funmilayo Adesanya. “I’ve been here since 6 am, and I’m still waiting. They should have a better system in place to handle this.”

“I’ve tried calling their customer service, but no one picks up,” said Oluwaseun Ogunyemi. “It’s like they don’t care about their customers.”

MTN staff were unavailable for comment, but a post made on the official MTN page on social media gave easy steps on how subscribers can unblock their lines anytime and anywhere.
