The Niger State Police Command has apprehended Mohammed Isah for the murder of Nurudeen Nuhu in the Abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village near Minna, the state capital.
The incident occurred last Saturday during a dispute over a phone. Nurudeen, from Anguwan-Daji area, was fatally stabbed by Mohammed Isah from Anguwan-Biri during the altercation.
Following the stabbing, Nurudeen was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
According to SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, the GRA Division received a report of the altercation at around 10 AM on June 29, 2024.
Police responded to the scene swiftly, where they found Nurudeen stabbed and subsequently transported him to the General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Mohammed Isah has been arrested, and initial investigations are ongoing. He will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiry and prosecution.
Police patrols have been intensified in the area to ensure peace and order are maintained.
