Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have apprehended one Monday Chukwu for allegedly stabbing his friend, Kefa Ofando, to death after a dispute over an unpaid loan of two thousand naira.
In a statement shared on its X handle on Thursday, the command explained that the 34-year-old suspect, a resident of Akintola village in the Odigbo area of the state, became violent during an argument after demanding the repayment of the loan. The disagreement escalated, and Chukwu stabbed his friend in the neck with a pair of scissors.
The statement reads, “Mr Monday Chukwu, a 34-year-old resident of Akintola village in the Odigbo area of the state, stabbed his friend Kefa Ofando to death. Investigation revealed that the deceased had borrowed the suspect the sum of two thousand naira, which he demanded for repayment. An argument ensued, and the suspect stabbed the victim with scissors on his neck.”
The police confirmed that the suspect will be charged to court once investigations are completed.
