The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde in his drive to provide affordable and qualitative education to the good people of the state has commissioned a model school, Anwar-Ul-Islam Basic School, Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government Area.
It would be recalled that Engr. Seyi Makinde took the mantle of leadership on 29th May, 2019 after defeating his closest contender, Adebayo Adelabu in a keenly contested election to a landslide victory.
Engr. Seyi Makinde among many other projects commissioned the model school to commemorate his administration’s one year in office.
Tropic Reporters garthered that, this was one of the twenty-two model schools completed by his administration in the last one year.
The Governor in his statement however reiterated the commitment of his Oyo State led adminstration to complete all outstanding projects.
Governor Makinde said, For this reason, we paid UBEC counterpart funding for 2018 and 2019, and this enabled us to access matching grants to complete these infrastructural projects, he added.
Those on his entourage include; Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, SUBEB Chairman, Dr Nureni Adeniran, Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun and Eleyinpo of Ipapo, Oba Abdulyekini Ademola Abioye.
