The Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON, FCA, has received the news of the death of a former Majority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Yinka Mafe, with great shock and sadness.
Senator Amosun who described the death of Hon. Mafe as a personal loss to him, said the deceased was a committed party man, a reliable foot-soldier, a fiercely loyal person and a highly resourceful grassroots politician.
“His death is a colossal loss to all of us in Ogun State, and it saddens my heart that Hon. Mafe had to succumb to the cold hands of death, on the night of his 46th birthday, a day that was supposed to be one of his joyous days.
With his death, Amosun said a blossoming political and professional career had been cut short at his prime, while his glorious dreams had been extinguished, adding that as a two-term lawmaker, who represented Sagamu 1 State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Mafe provided quality representation to his constituents.
“Yinka Mafe will be greatly missed in the political landscape of Ogun State; he belonged to the category of selfless young Nigerians whose passion for selfless service, and for the growth and development of Ogun State and Nigeria, was exemplary.
While commiserating with his widow, children and the entire Mafe Family, especially his aged Father, Senator Amosun enjoins them to take solace in the fact that death is inevitable for all mankind, adding that there is an appointed time for everything – A time to be born and a time to die. Ironically, the day, 4th February turns out to be both the day of his birth and death.
The Ogun Central Senator prays that Almighty God will grant him eternal rest and give his family and the entire APC family in Ogun State the fortitude to bear the pain of his loss”.
