So-safe Corps, an Ogun State Government owned security outfit have arrested two suspected robbers for stealing petrol (PMS) into a tanker impounded by The Nigeria Customs Service, Idi Iroko Command.
This was contained in a press release issued this Sunday to journalists in Abeokuta by So-safe Corps Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Moruf Yusuf and obtained by Tropic Reporters Correspondent.
So-safe Corps Director of Information said that the officers of So-safe deployed to enforce the covid-19 stay-at-home order of the government in Idi-Iroko Division arrested the two suspected robbers for stealing petrol (PMS).
Muruf Yusuf stressed that the success of the arrest was made possible due to an intelligence information received by the officers of the Corps and the arrest was infected at about 1:00hours on Saturday 25th April, 2020.
Moruf said, “The officers and men of Commander Soji Ganzallo led So-Safe Corps that were deployed to enforce the Covid-19 stay at home orders of the Government in Idiroko Division arrested two suspected robbers for stealing petrol(PMS) in a tanker impounded by The Nigeria Customs Service,Idiroko Command during the total lockdown for violation of order.”
“The success of the arrest which was effected at about 1:00hrs on Saturday 25th. April,2020 was made possible based on an intelligence gathering.”
“The suspects Salako Tobi”m” Yoruba, Christian,30yrs, of Oko Epo,Mede Ajegunle located in Ipokia Local Government and Husu Mautin “m” Yoruba Christian,22yrs, of Igbo Are, Ajegunle , Mede in the same local Government was caught with 2760 litres petrol and confessed without yorture to have stolen the fuel in 45 pieces of 30litres gallons in the first trip and secondly 47 pieces of 30litres gallons totalling 92 gallons from a seized tanker by NCS. The tanker which was packed at Vicket filling station ,Ogosa,Ipokia Local Government.”
“The suspects were caught with One Bajaj Tricycle with number plate TRE 479 WE and 3 other vehicles ;a Toyota Camry with registration number AA 74 BE ,Toyota Avalon with number plate EKY 83 DD and Volkwagen Passat with number plate KJA 109 ES that are used to transport the stolen article.”
The Corps Director of Information however said after preliminary investigation, the suspected robbers have been handed over to the Nigeria Customs Service, Idi- Iroko Command for further investigation and likely prosecution.
