Libya is set to host Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying Matchday 4 encounter at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium.

This important match will take place in the city of Benina, located 19 kilometers outside Benghazi, Libya’s second-largest city.

The 10,000-capacity stadium, previously known as Hugo Chávez Stadium, boasts an artificial turf and is expected to host fans as Libya seeks to improve its standing in Group D.

The Libyan national team, currently at the bottom of the group, will need a strong performance against Nigeria in their home game.

Before this Matchday 4 clash, both teams will first face off on Matchday 3 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, on October 11.

The Uyo match is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m., while the return match in Benina will commence at 8 p.m. Nigeria time on October 15.

Libya’s current position at the bottom of Group D comes after two disappointing results—a 1-1 draw at home against Rwanda, played at the Tripoli International Stadium, and a 1-2 defeat to Benin Republic in Abidjan.

Nigeria, on the other hand, leads the group with four points after an impressive 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in Uyo on Matchday 1, followed by a goalless draw against Rwanda in Kigali on Matchday 2.

With these two crucial matches on the horizon, both teams will be vying for valuable points as the road to AFCON 2025 continues.
