LG Rhythms Foundation Advocates Community Involvement In Public Schools Development

The Ogun State Local Government authorities have called for community involvement in the development of public schools in each local government area of the state.

The educational Secretary of Abeokuta South Local Government Education Authourity Hon. Alli Mohammed gave the charge at the LG RHYTHMS Choices 3rd Outreach Event organized by the LG Rhythms Foundation last Thursday at the Baptist Primary School2, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.

The educational Secretary while giving his opening speech highlighted the importance of education and the need for community members to give their total support to the development of public schools in their local government area.

He added that the schools are meant for children in the communities, if not developed, the outcome will be on those children.
The LG Choices Gov. Lgean Arikeade who had earlier welcomed everyone to the event, highlighted what the foundation stands for.

Akinwunmi in his short speech said the foundation has been contributing to the development of the society, especially schools in Abeokuta.

He advise other foundations to follow the suit to enhance the development of Ogun State.

Following the opening remarks, White Boards were presented to eight primary schools in the area.

The beneficiary schools are, Baptist Primary School 1, Idi Aba Abeokuta, Baptist Primary School 2, Idi Aba Abeokuta, Community Model Primary School Oke Lantoro, Abeokuta, Imo Methodist Primary School Oke Yeke, Abk, Baptist Primary School, Bode Ijaye, Abk, UBE Model Primary School Olorombi, Abk, O.L.A Primary School Oke Ilewo, Abk and Otunba Gbenga Daniel Primary School, Oluwo Baasala, Abeokuta.

The presentation was done by
Governor Arikeade of LG choices, Hon. Alli Mohammed, The Education Secretary Abk South local government education authority, Director of planning, Research and Statistics, Prince Olabode Olusoga and Head of School Services, Mrs. Martin’s.

Representatives from those schools espressed their gratitude’s and emphasizes the significant impact of the white board to the development of teaching and learning process in the schools.

The event also featured speeches from the Ogun State AOPSHO Chairman, Comrade Sanusi D.A, The AOPSHO Abeokuta South chairperson, Mrs. Ogunkola A.D and the NUT Abeokuta South chairman, Comrade Adejare Z.O as they speak on the importance of education in the state and the impactful roles of their respective organization in the development of primary schools in the state.

Others present at the event are Mr. Adebayo M.A – Chief Monitoring Officer, Mr. Makinde Abolaji – Chief Education Officer, Comrade Sanusi D.A – State AOPSHON Chairman, Comrade Ogunsan David and Comrade (Mrs) Kotiku P.A – NAPSGAST Abk south Chairperson and the foundation members.
