Lawmakers resume for the last lap of the 9th National Assembly

Federal Lawmakers have returned to the National Assembly to continue the business of Lawmaking and representation after their annual Summer Recess.

But this time, they resumed to a new makeshift chamber due to renovation work currently ongoing at the National Assembly Complex.

The President of the Senate welcomed his colleagues back to work and told them that among the priorities for the next three months will be the confirmation of the Acting CJN, Consideration of the 2023 Budget proposal as well as continuous engagement with security agencies.

Shortly after Coming out of an executive Session, the Nigerian Senate begins the business of the Day.

The President of the Senate gives his colleagues a warm welcome from their long holiday and briefs them on the task ahead.

He says the remaining nine months of their tenure will be very busy, productive, and hopefully successful.

The Senate President also assures the Independent National Electoral Commission of the legislature’s unflinching support to ensure transparent and credible polls in the next year’s general Elections.

The Senate also commends the country’s armed forces for the successes achieved in the fight against insecurity and promises to continuously engage with heads of security agencies and ensure the successes achieved are sustained.
