Law Student UDUS Writes Management, Demand Refund of Laboratory Fee

Following the hullabaloos of law students on the Laboratory fee added to the payment scheduled for law students of usmanu danfodiyo University sokoto, the leadership of the law students’ society of Nigeria, Usmanu Danfodiyo University sokoto has written to the school management to refund the additional fee to the concerned students with the heading ‘Complain for Inclusion of laboratory fees’.

Our correspondent gathered, the affected students have raised alarm when noticed the additional three thousand naira (₦3000:00) meant for laboratory fee and when in the real senses not offering any course related to laboratory courses, and had earlier channelled to the school management their complained through the dean student affairs.

Pen press UDUS, a media outfit in the institution had earlier reported that the dean student affairs, Prof Aminu Mode, when responding to questions at the students leaders–management interaction, promised a refund of the fee provided the students are right in their agitation, ordered the leadership to follow due processes by writing formally to the school management.

“The laboratory fee has been programmed by the school management information system (MIS) and removing it would be difficult”. Aminu said.

The letter reads in parts “Sequel to the outcry we received from our students, regarding the inclusion of laboratory fees to their school fees and to this effect, we say: there is no reason for Including N3,000 naira as laboratory fee where we don’t operate laboratory”.

“It is in view of the above that the students of the faculty have submitted their evidences of payment for unward refund process”.

The letter which was signed by the secretary general of the law student, Ishaq Anas Abdulmumin, appeal to the school management to consider refunding as it will go a long way in assisting the academic struggle of the concerned students.
