Late Ayinla Omowura’s Lead Drummer, Alao Adewole (Onilu-Ola) dies at 97

The death of Alhaji Rahman Alao Adewole Onilu-Ola was announced yesterday evening by one of his Children, Kameel.

It could be recalled that a special 97th birthday was organized in his honour by Ayinla Omo Wura Music Lovers Club International, in Abeokuta exactly a month ago where eminent personalities graced the occasion from across the world.

The special birthday celebration also had in attendance the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egba Land, Oba Adefotun Àrèmú Gbadebo, Scholars, indigenous language researcher and apala musicians from across the world.

He is to be buried today according to Islamic rites.
