The last batch of pilgrims from Ogun State have finally joined their Muslim counterparts in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to commence their hajj rites.
A total of 174 which arrived Medina in the early hours of today have since been lodged in Al Ilyas centres, Medina, Saudi Arabia and will immediately commence their site visitation(siyaroh).
The Executive Secretary of Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,(OGSMPWB) Alhaji Abdul Hakeem Kalejaiye represented by the Head of operations and Chief Imam of the Board, Imam Buhari Inakoju who was on standby to receive pilgrims disclosed this while responding to questions from the Press, saying operation had to be carried out back to back to ensure there was no lapses.
“The pilgrims arrived Medina after an approximate six hours journey from Jeddah. As l speak, pilgrims are already allocated their rooms and are well rested” he said.
According to the information gathered by the Information Officer with the Board, Rasak Sekoni, the last batch will be embarking on 1-Day, visitation to historic sites(siyaroh) of religious importance in Medina, without any undue setback and to proceed afterwards to Mecca this weekend to join additional 550 pilgrims already settled in Makkah.
“There is no need to waist time as we need to move faster and take pilgrims out for siyaroh. This will be done tomorrow and we are working towards moving to Medina this weekend ln Sha Allah. Hajj proper, is fast approaching and in that wise, we need to proceed faster in order to accommodate other important activities of hajj pilgrims should partake in.”, Inakoju buttressed.
