The Lagos State Government will launch the Lagos Revenue Portal (LRP) on August 15, 2024, to streamline tax payments for residents and businesses.
Abdul-Kabir Ogungbo, Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu on Taxation and Revenue and Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), announced the initiative at a media briefing in Lagos.
Ogungbo stated that the LRP is part of the state’s efforts to enhance residents’ quality of life. He described the platform as a significant advancement in tax collection, offering a user-friendly self-service portal that consolidates all tax-related activities.
The portal will integrate billing and payments across all Lagos State ministries, departments, and agencies, allowing users to manage and print bills, make payments via various methods, and receive instant receipts. It will also enable payment amendments, reversals, and provide a comprehensive payment history.
Ogungbo emphasized that the LRP represents a key milestone in improving Lagos State’s revenue system, aiming to make tax payment more efficient, convenient, and secure.
