Lagos, Nigeria – The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) has announced the approval of 13 new Band A feeders by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), a move that is expected to improve electricity supply and enhance the overall power distribution network in Lagos State.

The upgraded feeders, which bring the total number of IKEDC’s Band A feeders to 141, include OgbaINJ-T3-Agege, AlimoshoINJ-T8-Okunola, OworoINJ-T3-Anthony, AdeniyiJonesINJ-T1-Anifowoshe, IsheriINJ-T1-Bankole, EjigboTCN-Igando, EjigboTCN-Ijegun, IkoroduTCN-Fakale, Maryland INJ-T1-Ketu, OjoduINJ-T1-King Avenue, OdungunyanINJ-T1-Agodo, and T1-IjuINJ-T1-Ajuwon.

IKEDC’s consistent provision of at least 20 hours of daily electricity was cited as the reason for the approval.

Meanwhile, NERC has warned distribution companies (DisCos) to complete the STS meter migration by July 31, 2024, or face sanctions.

This development is a significant step towards improving electricity supply in Lagos State, and IKEDC’s commitment to reliable power distribution.
