Lagos Man Arraigned for Allegedly Defiling 10-Year-Old Daughter

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 38-year-old man, Lucky Ugwauka, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling his 10-year-old daughter.

Ugwauka pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, the defendant committed the offence on August 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Abapasha Street in the Ojo area of Lagos.

Adeosun alleged that Ugwauka threatened to kill his daughter if she revealed their sexual encounters.

The offence is said to contravene Sections 139, 263, and 58 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya granted Ugwauka bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, requiring the sureties to be level 14 officers in the civil service.

The case has been adjourned until September 30 for mention.
