In a bid to enforce environmental regulations and curb noise pollution, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed several establishments in Lekki Phase 1 for non-compliance with state environmental laws.
According to the state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the affected establishments, including popular spots like Bolivar, Red Lagos, Kingfisher, and Logic Church, were found to be violating environmental laws despite prior warnings.
The commissioner stated that the proactive measure by LASEPA underscores its commitment to fostering a serene and sustainable environment that prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and environmental responsibility.
The move is seen as a significant step towards addressing the growing concerns of noise pollution and environmental degradation in the state.
By taking decisive action against violators, the Lagos State government is sending a strong message that environmental infractions will no longer be tolerated.
This development is expected to have a positive impact on the environment and the quality of life for residents in the affected areas.
