Some social media users have lampooned a presidential aspirant for the Lagos Country Club election, Mr. Seyi Adewunmi for copyright infringement.

Mr. Seyi Adewunmi has been using unaccredited video clips allegedly taken from foreign content to push his campaign as Lagos Country Club President without crediting the source.

Mr Adewunmi had shared a video on the LCC WhatsApp group titled accidentally locked your keys in your car?” showing how car owners can open their car door in case the car key was locked in their vehicles.

Penultimate week, he equally shared a video titled “Breaking out of a vehicle in an emergency” with his picture crested as the original content creator.

This, according to some online users was a violation of copyright law and plagiarism.

They described him as careless and irresponsible.

They argued that his act of infringement shows his intellectual dishonesty and laziness from a presidential aspirant.

According to Nhqhumourblog, the original video was longer and more detailed shared 10 months ago on Brightside YouTube page.

It accused Mr. Seyi Adewunmi of lifting a part of the video without crediting the original owner of the content.

The comment reads “This is helpful, thanks so much for sharing although the original video was longer and more detailed. I think I first saw it like 10 months ago on Brightside YouTube page.

“This man just lifted a part of the video without crediting the original owner of the content.”
