Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Sam Egube, has been presented with the “Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity” by the West Africa Youth Council (WAYC).
Speaking after the award ceremony in his office at the Secretariat, Alausa, the Commissioner thanked the WAYC and expressed his appreciation for the award, stressing that it would encourage him to be more dedicated and hardworking in future.
Egube also used the occasion to reiterate the State Government’s resolve to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizenry, while urging the youths to key into the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of the Lagos State Government.
Earlier, the West Africa Youth Council said the award was presented to Egube in recognition of his accomplishments as a distinguished Engineer who has done much in advancing the growth of the economic system through proper budget planning and execution of critical projects in Lagos.
The group added that the Commissioner’s banking experience had enabled him prioritise self-reliance, while bringing governance closer to the younger generation, emphasising that the award was presented to Egube and others like him to encourage and motivate them for better performance, commitment and dedication.
