The Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, has reiterated the State Governments’ commitment to sustaining the support to farmers as part of efforts to boost food production in Lagos State.
Ms. Olusanya spoke at the quarterly sensitisation programme for farmers in Epe Division of the State, adding that over the years the Lagos State Agricultural Inputs Supply Authority (LAISA) has been at the forefront of supplying farmers with high-quality inputs such as farm implements, agrochemicals and seedlings at affordable prices.
The Commissioner, represented at the event by the General Manager of LAISA, Mr. Bolaji Balogun, said the present administration has established eight farm service centres in different divisions of the State to give farmers access to quality agricultural inputs and ensure that the agency remains a one-stop-centre for agricultural inputs supply in the State.
In his remarks, the Assistant General Manager (Commercial) of the Agency, Mr. Olajide Ajenifuja, appreciated the Ministry of Agriculture for being consistent in supporting the agency to provide qualitative service to farmers in the State, as well as making LAISA a one-stop-centre for agricultural inputs in Lagos.
Ajenifuja also commended the farmers for their commitment to producing food for the State’s ever-growing population.
