The Kogi State House of Assembly has passed a supplementary budget of N58.8 billion for 2024, aimed at enhancing investment attraction and economic growth in the state.
This approval follows the initial passage of the N258.2 billion Appropriation Bill in December 2023.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had requested the supplementary budget to fund various government agencies, including newly established bodies like the anti-corruption agency and initiatives in the electricity sector.
The House thoroughly reviewed and passed the budget clause by clause, ensuring meticulous consideration.
Speaker Umar Yusuf emphasized the strategic importance of the supplementary budget in attracting investors and fostering economic growth in Kogi State.
He commended Governor Ododo for his initiatives, including the historic upgrading of the Zariagi airport, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to advancing development efforts in the state.
