People on social media today are rejoicing after the arrest of the late young girl’s killers. While it is encouraging that justice would be served, one cannot but cringe at the motive of Uwa’s killers.

In a video which has been circulating on social media, one of the suspects confessed to receiving the sum of N1 million for the operation. The suspects arrested are Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Mrs Tina Samuel, Mrs Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien and Collins Ulegbe.

Late Miss Omozuwa was said to have gone to the church to read when the suspects went into the church, raped and inflicted a very serious injury on her that eventually led to her death days later in the hospital.

One of the suspects noted that it was Mrs Mary Ade who contracted Uwa’s killers on the basis of her personal reservations for the young girl.

The suspect said that Mary, as well as Uwa, attended the same church and Mary decided to kill the young girl because of her success in church and how the church massively supported her in her endeavours.

It is agreed that money is the root of all evil, however, in this case of Uwa’s death, it can be concluded that jealousy is the fully-grown tree of evil.
