…Calls Off Strike for 5 Days

The Organised Labour has announced a 5-day suspension of the nationwide strike to allow for uninterrupted negotiations with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.

This decision comes after a successful meeting between Labour leaders and government officials, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, on Monday.

According to sources close to the negotiations, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has committed to a new minimum wage exceeding N60,000.

The Tripartite Committee will meet daily for the next week to finalize an agreeable National Minimum Wage.

With this development, government and private offices are expected to resume normal operations.

The suspension of the strike is a welcome relief to many Nigerians who have been affected by the industrial action.

The negotiations are ongoing, and the nation waits with bated breath for a positive outcome.
