A coordinated operation by a joint security team has successfully dismantled hideouts of suspected criminals in the Lilu, Mbosi, and Iseke communities within Ihiala local government area of Anambra State.
During the early Saturday operations, the team recovered three unexploded bombs and two abandoned vehicles.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Tochukwu Ikenga reported that the successful operation stemmed from intelligence gathered over time.
“The Joint Security Forces executed a planned operation that led to the discovery of a criminal camp in Lilu, Mbosi, and Iseke, where we recovered three unexploded improvised explosives, along with various hazardous materials, including copper wires and fuel,” Ikenga stated.
Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police for Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has urged the operatives to maintain their momentum in combating crime.
He assured law-abiding citizens of the commitment from police and other security agencies to thwart criminal activities and ensure public safety.
SP Ikenga confirmed that operations by the joint security team are ongoing, promising to keep the public informed of any further developments in the situation.
