A National Science Bee Competition has been instituted in honour of a Nigerian education icon, Prof. Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku, Proprietor of Taidob College, Asero Estate, Abeokuta.
The Director, Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku Foundation (AOJF), Engr. Idowu Jiboku who made this known at the 5th year remembrance service of the late philanthropist, let out that his father was passionate about Sciences, especially Chemistry which he taught at different levels of education.
In the same vein, Director of the College, Mr Obawunmi Jiboku announced some cash rewards to members of staff of Taidob College, Asero Estate and its sister schools, Yomfield Nursery and Primary School, Obantoko as well as Lariken Nursery/Primary and Lariken College, Ibadan, for their meritorious service.
Meanwhile, the Archbishop of Ogun Province of the African Church Nigeria and Overseas, Archbishop S. O. B. Ojumu in a short sermon advised all to emulate the sterling virtues of Prof. Abayomi Jiboku, describing him as a distinguished personality who served God diligently and made remarkable impact in the society.
Held at the Oba Adedapo Tejuoso Auditorium in the College, family members and friends including school owners, clergies and Rotarians took turn to eulogise the Founder of Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku Foundation (AOJF) for the positive roles played while alive.
The only bible reading of the day from Psalm 147; 1-20 was read by the Principal of the college and wife of the late Proprietor, Chief Mrs Hope Olayinka Jiboku.
In a tribute, the first daughter of the late Jiboku, Mrs. Taiwo Emmanuel shared glowing memories of her late father, describing him as a super hero.
The memorial service which attracted a large audience featured creative presentations by Taidob College and its sister schools.
