The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of its accreditation process for centres intending to participate in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

This accreditation marks the initial step in preparations for the nationwide placement examination.

In a statement released on Sunday, JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin emphasized that all new Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres wishing to partake in the 2025 UTME must adhere to the Board’s guidelines.

“Prospective CBT centres are required to visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Pdfs/CBT_centre_requirements.pdf to familiarize themselves with the requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT centre,” he stated.

Dr. Benjamin further noted that such centres should formally notify the Board of their intention by addressing a written application to the Registrar of JAMB through the Zonal Director or State Coordinator of their respective states.

For previously accredited centres that participated in the 2024 UTME without incident, the spokesperson advised them to express their interest for 2025 through the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal. He added, “The Zonal and State Offices will create accounts for new centres on the CMS Portal to facilitate their registration.”

As part of the accreditation process, JAMB has mandated that all centres undergo an Autobot/Autotest on a date to be announced. Dr. Benjamin explained, “The Autobot/Autotest is a mandatory requirement. Only centres that successfully pass this phase will qualify for a physical accreditation visit by the Board’s team.”

He warned that centres failing to meet the necessary standards during the Autobot/Autotest would not be reconsidered. “Only centres that meet all stipulated requirements and pass the Autobot/Autotest will be invited for the physical accreditation exercise, which is scheduled to take place in December 2024,” the statement read.

Dr. Benjamin concluded by stating that only centres that complete the process and meet the Board’s criteria will be approved for the 2025 UTME registration and examination. He urged all stakeholders to ensure compliance with JAMB’s requirements to avoid disqualification.
