ITF Appreciates Ogun Deputy Governor, Award For Support

The Ogun State Deputy Governor Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele has been given an award for her outstanding support and contribution to the Industrial Training Fund ITF Abeokuta area office at its 2020 interactive forum with Stakeholders.

Receiving the award, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele who was also the chairperson of the Event revealed that in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun’s developmental strides as posited by its ISEYA mantra was aimed at improving the livelihood of its citizenry, particularly in the area of youth empowerment and development.

She noted that post COVID-19, Government is seriously strategising on more ways to better improve the economy of state, especially in sectors that is key to improving Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in the state

Appreciating the ITF for the award, Engr Salako-Oyedele informed that the Government and the Industrial Training Fund cannot do not do it alone, calling on well meaning individuals and corporate organisations to join hands with government to provide platforms through which Vocational skills can be acquired to augment governments efforts.

In her remarks, the State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs Kikelomo Longe, said that the state government is committed to implementing all development programmes outlined for the actualization of the building the future together agenda, revealing that her ministry is collaborating with some entrepreneurship development institutes (EDIs) approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria to organize a 5-day intensive training programme which is a major requirement for accessing AGSEIMES loan in NISRAL Microfinance bank.

She added that the training which will hold across the three senatorial districts of the state in January next year, will be for genuine entrepreneurs who are operating small business within the state.

Also speaking , Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuwape, said government at all level need to embrace vocational skills for the youths, saying no country in the world can succeed without vocational skills and that is why efforts of ITF is very germane, stressing the need for continued sensitization and training of young ones especially now that unemployment rate is very high and the era of white collar job has been dragged in the mud.

Earlier in her welcone address, the Area Manager , Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Abeokuta area office, Mrs Funmi Coker, said the forum was one of the several strategies and initiatives of ITF to bring together clients and stakeholders for interaction, adding that this year’s forum is first of its kind to be organized by ITF which is an evident of the new normal.
