League of Imam and Alfas in Yorubaland have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for strengthening democracy in Nigeria through the peaceful conduct of the just concluded 2023 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
The Wakeelul Muslimeen of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Sheik Iskeel Lawal (Sugar) stated this while speaking with newsmen today, appreciated President Buhari for not yielding to the call seeking for the cancellation of the elections, but for allowing the will of the people come to reality.
The group also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring free, fair, credible and transparent election, while also appreciating the Nigeria Police Force, alongside other security agencies deployed for election security management in the 2023 general elections for their commitment to ensuring a secured electioneering process in the country.
“The league of Imam and Alfas in Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States under the leadership of Sheik Iskeel Lawal (Sugar) want to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for consolidating Nigeria’s democracy by ensuring peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections despite the many challenges facing the country “.
“We are optimistic that with this peaceful conduct of the election it will further strength national unity beyond religious and ethnicity”.
“We also need to appreciate the President for not yielding to the yearning of those calling for the cancellation of the elections on the basis of some technical irregularities”.
“Let me also laud the electoral umpire, the National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a free, fair, credible and transparent election despite the many difficulties experienced”.
“Similarly, I’ll want to appreciate the Nigeria Police Force, alongside other security agencies deployed for election security management in the 2023 general elections for their commitment to ensuring a secured electioneering process in the country”, he said.
