ABEOKUTA – About 70 members of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ogun State on Monday suspended indefinitely 12 political party chairmen for impersonating the council to attack Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.
IPAC in a communique issued on Monday, said it dissociated itself from the character assassination statement against the governor by Moshood Adesina and Oginni Olaposi.
The party chairmen stated further that, the damaging media statements credited to the duo of Oginni and Adesina and 10 others contravened section 4.3(c)(a) (vi) of the IPAC code of conduct.
They maintained that, the attack on the governor and bribery allegation against Hon. Biyi Adeleye are being sponsored by some money bags politicians to create tension in the state towards their “inordinate” 2023 governorship ambition.
Other members suspended by the Congress include; Adebayo Musoro (ID), Adesegun TAIWO (CAP), Asiwaju Obafemi Adenuga (APP), Adekunle Owode (NAC), Adesina Abraham (PPP), and Yeye Olufunke (AGA).
Others are; Adenuga Rotimi Arike (RAP), Adeyemi Omoniyi (Kowa), Prince Ogunwolu Sarafadeen (ACPN) Olusoji Daniel (ANRP) and Otunba Ajibola (SNC).
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Chapter of IPAC has congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun on his Appeal Court victory.
The council said, the victory was a well deserved and has unshaken expectation of the people whose votes have now been made judicially count.
IPAC in a release signed by its Chairman, Abayomi Arabambi said the Appeal Court verdict as removed the burden of distractions from bad election losers who get shelved with its unwanted intrigue and mischief.
“This victory is a testimony to the relevance of making adequate efforts at promoting inclusive governance while in government and to serve the people with sincerity to earn support during the elections rather than playing at individualism and Sole – Administratorship while in government and acquire bad feelings that would come to work to the advantage of the opposition.
“This victory underscores the fact that when most of the popular votes are already lost before and in the election , it is futile attempting to cut corners with a litigation that lack merit.
“At this point, in the interest of all the citizens of Ogun State, the victorious government should re – double its efforts in its ongoing simultaneous, multi – sector development in the State . The era of concentrating singularly on only mono sector development like roads and bridges that are not even equitably selected evenly distributed and uncompleted is gone for good.”
