Igangan indigenes residing in Abeokuta, Ogun State has commended governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for the deployment of Amotekun security operatives to combat criminal activities and to maintain law and order in the area.
Chairman of the association, Alhaji Jamiu Badmus, who made the call while addressing newmen in Igangan, says the Indigenes living outside the town are now worried over the safety of their people and properties.
The Indigenes under the auspices of Igangan Community Development Association, Abeokuta Chapter also asked for the immediate profiling and prosecution of all arrested suspects of reported cases of farmers/herders clashes in Ibarapa axis of the state.
Badmus explained that despite the intervention of the state government and the security agencies some of those allegedly fingered over the attacks were yet to be questioned.
He said, “the seriki Fulani in igangan, Alhaji Abdulkadir, among others are still walking freely in the society
“Some of the suspects are allegedly threatening of reprisal attacks while Seriki is seeking a return to the town”.
The association chairman however called on the Governor and the security chiefs to as a matter of urgency carry out a full scale and comprehensive audit of what led to the unfortunate incidents.
The Chairman thereafter demanded that the families of the victims affected during the crisis be heavily compensated.
