The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmoud Yakubu, has assured Labour Party (LP) that the Commission has nothing to hide.
The Commission gave the assurance during a meeting with the legal team of LP on Monday.
The legal team comprising about 60 lawyers had stormed the INEC national headquarters in Abuja to meet with the Commission’s officials.
The meeting was aimed at commencing the process of inspection of electoral materials used for the February 25 presidential election.
Giving his response to the visit, Yakubu said “INEC has nothing to hide. Documents available at the HQ will be given immediately. We are meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners today, and we will discuss how other documents at the state level could also be made available to you speedily”.
