Toward improved service delivery, Ogun state government has donated four buses to government agencies and worker’s union in the state.
The beneficiaries include Ogun State Television (OGTV), Nigeria Labour Congress( NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
Presenting the keys to representatives of each agencies and labour unions, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, said the donation was part of the governor’s promises to aid service delivery across the state.
“His Excellency is very concerned about the welfare and working conditions of Ogun state civil servants and has gradually been going through their needs and requests. Part of it is the recently approved and payment of minimum wage for the state work force”
She added that the Governor was a man of his words and he will continue to deliver on his rebuilding our future together agenda to all citizens of the state.
Responding, the General Manager, OGTV, Mr Festus Kehinde, appreciated the state government, saying the last time the station had such privilege was during the tenure of Governor Bisi Onabanjo because OGTV was about 9km to the town.
Also speaking, the State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), comrade Emmanuel Bankole, thanked the state government for the kind gesture , saying it will aid the union’s movement in and out of the state, while assuring the state government of more mutual working relationship.
He however called on the state government to extend such gesture to other unions and government agencies lacking buses.
