Every year, on October 5th, the world comes together to celebrate World Teachers’ Day, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of educators to society.
In Nigeria, this day holds immense significance, as teachers play a pivotal role not only in shaping the future of our nation but also in driving economic growth and development.
The Management and students of Iloko Model College, Iloko Ijesa today rolled out drums to celebrate the contributions of her teachers in grand styles.
The epoch making occasion commemorating 2023 teachers day which featured drama, music, sporting activities among others were carried out by the teachers, while the Old students of the school were not left out as many of them in Nigeria and in diaspora sent greetings and goodwill messages via zoom device to add spices to the program.
In his speech, the Principal of the school, Pastor Kayode Ogunwale, thanked God for making staff and students to witness the day’s event.
He commended the contributions of the teachers to the overall development and outstanding performance of the school.
He said, “I am delighted to celebrate this auspicious occasion with our dear teachers who have in one way or another contributed to the growth and development of the school in all aspects”.
“I must today appreciate your unique role in the overall development of the society and I must state that you all are blessings to the school”.
“Your dedication, selflessness, passion and care coupled with your expertise have brought us as a citadel of learning to this present position”, he maintained.
The Principal however enjoined the students to key in to the opportunities provided by the school and the teachers to make their dreams come to reality.
In her goodwill message, the President of the Old students Association Dr. (Mrs) Timilehin Ogungbangbe-Jegede Jegede, thanked the teachers both old and new for their great impact on all the students that passed through their hands, and wished them a wonderful celebration.
