…enjoins community leaders to ensure proper accountability
Community leaders have been identified as one of the strongest pillar that stimulate the unity and survival of any Community towards enviable progress.
This charge was made on Saturday at the official presentation of certificate of registration to Ifedara Opeji Area CDC an epoch making event which was held at Brown School Premises, Baalesi Town, Albarika Area in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
While speaking at the event, the Chairman of Ifedara Opeji Area CDC, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab called on all Community leaders on the need to ensure proper accountability and transparency in discharging their constituted duties and responsibilities to the service of humanity.
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab therefore urged all concerned with Community affairs not to relent in the provision of quality service delivery to the community dwellers as well as ensuring continuous improvement in all developmental projects.
He equally implored youths to embrace peace despite the security challenges facing the country with no exemption to the State occasioned by the agitation of the youths to end police brutality and assault.
On his part, the principal guest of honor and the Wakeel Muslim of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Iskeel Lawal commended the leadership of the community for the giant strides achieved by obtaining it’s official certificate of registration.
He further charged the Community dwellers as well as its leadership to continue to champion it cause to ensure unity, Peaceful Coexistence and developmental projects that was used as platform to earn them the certificate.
While delivering his goodwill message, the Caretaker Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Alhaji Semiu Bola Lawal popularly known as “Sembol” reassured the community of government commitment to the development of Ifedara Opeji Area CDC as well as other Community areas in the State.
He commended the efforts of Ogun State Government under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun to stabilize the peace and unity of the State.
He however assured that adequate attention would be deployed to the community in the areas of good roads, stable electricity supply, good and affordable health facility as well as quality educational facilities.
Present at the event were representatives from CDAs under Ifedara Opeji Area CDC such as Orirenitemi CDA, Ifedapo CDA, Ire Oluwa CDA, Igbehin Adun CDA, Aduragbemi CDA, Oke Ayo (Ajegunle) CDA, Ileri Oluwa CDA, Eti Odo CDA, Ifeoluwa( Albarika) CDA, Irenitemi CDA, Ile Anuolwa CDA, Ifegbemi CDA, Osuolale CDA, Ajegunle Central 1 CDA, Aduraoluwa CDA, To Oluwanile CDA, Peace Estate, Irepodun CDA, Ifesowopo (Emere) CDA, Ike Oluwa CDA.
Other CDAs present include; Oke Ayo (Albarika) CDA, Oke Ola (Ajegunle) CDA, Iretomiwa (Agbaakin) CDA, Ifelere CDA, Alaseyori CDA, Ifelajulo CDA, Ajegunle Central 2 CDA, Elite Estate CDA, Irewolede (Oko Tipa) CDA, Albarika Central CDA, Irewolede (Ilupeju) CDA, Albarika Ibukun – Oluwa CDA, Idunnu Oluwa CDA, Farayola CDA, Anuoluwapo CDA, Ilupeju Central CDA and Irepodara CDA.
The event was also graced by important Community and government functionaries which include; Mr. Mudasiru Olayemi Oriola (State Director of Community Development), Engr. (Chief) Adekunle Adeoye (Chairman Opeji Area CDC), Alhaji Sanyaolu Abdullateef (Odeda Zonal CDC Chairman), Mrs. Adeola Soga, Mr. Segun Sholeye (Deputy Director of Community Development) among others.
The event aside the official presentation of certificate also witnessed presentation of award of recognitions to Sheikh Iskeel Lawal Sugar (Wakeel Muslim of Yorubaland Edo and Delta State), Mrs S.A Adegun (Former Odeda Zonal Officer), Mrs. Lolade Akiyode (Former Director Local Government Community Development, Odeda Local Government), Engr. (Chief) Adekunle Adeoye (Chairman, Opeji Area CDC).
