Ibadanland Celebrates as Ladoja Becomes Ceremonial Oba

Ibadan, Oyo State – In a historic ceremony, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, was crowned as an Oba in the line to the Olubadan throne on Monday.

The event took place at the new Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

Ladoja’s crowning follows his public announcement to accept the crown during a live radio programme in Ibadan. Since then, his residence has been a hub of activity, with numerous visitors congratulating and encouraging him.

In his remarks, Ladoja expressed gratitude to the Olubadan and the people of Ibadanland for the honor bestowed upon him.

He pledged to continue serving the community and upholding the traditions of Ibadanland.

The event was marked with traditional music, dance, and festivities, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland.

Dignitaries who attended the event include Governor Seyi Makinde, Asiwaju of Ibadanland Chief Bode Amao, and other prominent figures such as Chief Bayo Oyero, Chief Wole Akinwande, Yemisi Adeaga, and Niyi Ajewole.

The crowning of Ladoja marks a significant milestone in the traditional hierarchy of Ibadanland, solidifying his position in the line to the Olubadan throne.
