A health analyst from the civil society group for water and sanitation, Mr. Adesina Emmauel Adesegun, has urged parents to pay attention to the hygiene of their wards especially the female child during menstruation.
He stressed just how important menstrual hygiene is to the female child, while speaking during a Yoruba program, Oju Abe on Splash FM, Abeokuta.
Mr Adesina noted that parents should be partially blamed for the lack of proper menstrual hygiene in a female child, as he urged parents to make readily available the essentials needed for a proper hygiene.
He also noted that the government has a role to play in subsidizing the cost of these essentials and in the provision of the well needed social amenities such as water and others in the nation.
Mr Adesina explained further that, whatever values are been instilled in a child in school should reflect even while the child is at home adding that this can only be achieved by the parents continuous checkmating of the child.
Mr Adesina, appealed to parents, guardians and the female child to ensure a proper steady hygiene of the private parts and the body to prevent infections and other related health issues.
