Gunmen Assassinate Monarch in Taraba

Residents of Usmanu Village in the Karim-Lamido local government area of Taraba State are in mourning following the murder of their village head by unknown gunmen.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night, causing panic among the villagers due to sporadic gunfire.

Bitrus Danjos, the Chairman of Karim-Lamido LGA, confirmed the incident, expressing shock, especially since the deceased’s younger brother was also killed a few months ago.

He stated, “I was informed that the village head, HRH Auwal, was killed by unknown gunmen. The villagers have fled the community for safety. Security agencies are currently in the village to restore calm and normalcy.”
