In a vibrant display of athleticism and camaraderie, Iloko Model College (IMC) recently hosted its 20th annual inter-house athletic sports competition, igniting excitement and fervor among participants and spectators alike. The event, held in Iloko-Ijesa town, witnessed Green House clinching victory securing 11 Gold, 9 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals.
In a closely contested battle, Red House claimed the second position with an impressive haul of 7 Gold, 5 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals, while Yellow House secured the third spot with 6 Gold, 7 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals. Blue House rounded off the competition in fourth place, showcasing resilience with 2 Gold, 5 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals.
The festivities drew distinguished guests, including community monarchs such as HRM Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, the Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, and HRM Oba Adebayo Ogunmokun, the Akeji Of Ikeji-Ile. Additionally, notable figures like the Osun Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, Iloko traditional council and representatives of the Iloko Development Association (IDA) graced the occasion. Also present were members of the Iloko Model College Board, chaired by Omoba Lekan Oduntan.
Expressing gratitude, IMC Principal, Pastor Kayode Ogunwale, extended appreciation to all stakeholders, including divine providence, community leaders, patrons, matrons, parents, and esteemed guests. Pastor Kayode applauded the outstanding performances of all participating houses, particularly commending Green House for their stellar victory.
In his address, Pastor Kayode urged students to build upon the success of the event, emphasizing the importance of harnessing their talents to illuminate a bright future and serve as exemplary ambassadors of Nigeria, both domestically and internationally.
