The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has promised quick intervention of the state government to family whose building was destroyed by a giant tree which collapsed on it few days ago in Ede town, urging residents of the state to pay more interest in their environments.
Governor Adeleke gave the assurance on Thursday when a team led by top adviser, Dr. Bashiru Salam visited the scene of the incident, expressing shock at the devasting damage that the collapsed tree had caused.
Dr. Salam who was accompanied by officials in the ministry of works and state’s emergency management agency, said Governor Adeleke is deeply touched by the loss occasioned by the unfortunate incident, however, expressed gratitude to God that no casualty was recorded.
“We are here on the instruction of Mr Governor, first to sympathise with you, and also, access the level of damage caused by the disaster caused by the collapse of this giant tree on your house,” Dr. Salam noted at the scene.
“Mr Governor know well the implication of the destruction of this building to your family, and we are here to assure you that the state government will come up with an intervention, and it will be quick.”
Dr. Salam urged the people of Osun state to be aware of their environments to forestall any unforeseen situation, calling for collaborative efforts in fighting the impact of climate change.
