The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR has pledged continued support for the National Youth Service Corps in Ogun State,
The governor made the pledge while receiving the NYSC Ogun State Coordinator, Mrs Shokpeka Winifred Ngozi at the government house in Abeokuta.
Prince Abiodun while formerly welcoming Mrs Shokpeka who just assumed office as the 25th Chief Executive of the Scheme in Ogun State promised to support the Scheme as he did during the tenure of the former State Coordinator. Dr Mrs Belinda Faniyi.
According to him ” We will put all the Scheme’s request in our *to do list*. Consider us as partners in progress in the Nigeria Project” He stated.
He appreciated the State Coordinator for mentoring the youths to be morally upright and enjoining them to take Skills Acquisition seriously.
Earlier, Mrs Shokpeka while appreciating the governor for his support to the Scheme in the State presented her list of request, which includes; inauguration of State and Local government governing Boards, repair of the dilapidated State owned corps members lodge, subventions to the Scheme, monthly payment of corps members allowances, especially corps medical personnel serving in government owned establishments, provision of a new ambulance amongst other valid needs.
The visit is expected to yield positive results and increase the fortune of the Scheme in the State .
