National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, has affirmed that the party is now focused on securing control of Oyo and Osun states following the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Ondo’s gubernatorial election.

In an interview with newsmen after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Aiyedatiwa the winner, Ganduje expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, noting the people’s overwhelming support for the APC.

“I am very happy that the people of Ondo State showed their love for the ruling party with their votes. This election was free, fair, and credible. I want to thank INEC, security agencies, the media, and Civil Society Organizations for their invaluable contributions towards ensuring the success of this election,” Ganduje stated.

He emphasized that the election’s credibility was acknowledged by all major stakeholders, including INEC, security agencies, and international observers.

“There is no doubt that this is a moment of joy for us. The election was free, fair, and credible, and it reflects democracy in action. We are pleased that all the stakeholders, including INEC, the police, DSS, Civil Defence, military, media, and international organizations, agree on this,” Ganduje added.

Ganduje also pointed out that the victory in Ondo represents a commitment to the continuity of governance and the sustainability of projects.

“What is important to the people of Ondo is that they elected APC, and with that, our candidate, there will be no abandonment of projects and programs. The government will continue to deliver on its promises,” he said.

While celebrating Aiyedatiwa’s victory, Ganduje praised him as a “sellable candidate” and expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for creating an enabling environment for success.

“I congratulate Governor Aiyedatiwa, he is a product that we are proud to present, and we were fortunate to have succeeded in presenting him to the public,” he stated.

Looking ahead, Ganduje reiterated that the party’s next target in the South West region is to secure victories in Oyo and Osun states.

“Our next focus is Oyo and Osun states. We are good at hitting our targets, and we will work hard to bring them into the fold, creating more political opportunities for APC in the South West,” he remarked.

Ganduje had earlier stated during a stakeholders’ meeting in Ondo that the APC is working to take full control of the South West region ahead of the 2027 general election.

“In this geopolitical zone, we must deliver 100 percent for APC. Ondo must be at the forefront, but we are also strategizing to win Oyo and Osun,” he added. “Everything must be 100 percent behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ganduje stressed.
