Four Staff Members Confirmed Dead in Lagos Lounge Fire Accident

The Lagos State Police Command has reported the tragic death of four staff members in a fire incident that took place on Sunday at a lounge and bar located on Baale Road in the Olodi Apapa area.

Spokesperson for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, shared the news with reporters on Monday. He explained that the police received a distress call at the Tolu Division regarding the fire, which was reported at 7:45 a.m.

“Based on the report, teams of policemen and firefighters were swiftly mobilised to the scene, and the fire was successfully extinguished thanks to the combined efforts of all the teams involved,” Mr. Hundeyin stated.

Tragically, four employees of the establishment, who have not yet been identified, suffered fatal injuries and were burned beyond recognition. “The corpses have been evacuated to the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Morgue in Yaba for autopsy,” he added.

While the cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage remain unclear, the spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.
