On Friday, an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan ordered the remand of five individuals charged with the attempted murder of a neighbor.

The accused are Aliu Hammed (23), Molomo Tairu (20), Haruna Isiaq (25), Abdullahi Isiaq (22), and Abdulmumini Idris (25). They face charges of conspiracy and attempted murder.

Magistrate M. Mudashiru, who did not accept their plea due to lack of jurisdiction, directed that they be held at Agodi Correctional Facility, Ibadan, pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). The case has been adjourned to October 21 for further proceedings.

Prosecutor Insp. Femi Oluwadare stated that the defendants allegedly conspired to commit the crime on August 3 at Alaraba Village, near Orile-Igbon. They are accused of attempting to kill Abdulqadri Soliu by slashing his neck with a knife.

This charge is in violation of sections 320 and 324 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
