President Bola Tinubu has dismissed five ministers from his cabinet with immediate effect, signaling a significant reshuffle within the administration.

The ministers affected by this decision are Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.

This development was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday.

In addition to these dismissals, President Tinubu also announced a renaming of the Ministry of Niger Delta, which will now be known as the Ministry of Regional Development.

It is noteworthy that President Tinubu had previously indicated his intention to remove ministers who were deemed to have under-performed during the first year of his administration.

More updates on the reshuffle are expected to follow.
