The Federal Government says it will close the Alaka-Costain-Iganmu section of the Eko Bridge for another 40 days.

This statement was disclosed by the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos State, Engr. O.I. Kesha, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Works & Housing, said the closure will start from Sunday 23rd July 2023.

She said as a result of the damage noticed on some of the bridge members which needed to be urgently worked upon.

The statement added that any further delay in the repairs and replacement of some of these bridge members could undermine the integrity & structural stability of the entire bridge and the consequence of this can be better imagined.

Motorists are advised to cooperate with the Traffic-Management Team deployed on the highway to manage traffic.
