FG Declares Monday, September 16, Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid

The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday to commemorate Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the federal government in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

In his message, Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and abroad, urging them to use this occasion to pray for lasting peace and a prosperous, more equitable nation.

The minister also encouraged all Muslims and Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period of reflection and celebration.
