The Federal Fire Service has deployed utility vehicles to states to facilitate their surveillance during the elections.
This was made known in a statement by the agency’s National Public Relations Officer, Paul Abraham, released via Twitter on Wednesday.
The agency also released hotline numbers for the citizens to report fire cases during the election.
The statement partly reads, “As Nigerians go to the polls to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming general elections, expectations are rising as to how the rising tide of change in narrative could effect a thorough fire safety plan for a grand fire cover through a robust synergy of the Fire Service, Nigerian Police Force, Military and Paramilitary agencies.
“The Controller General of Federal Fire Service, Engr Jaji O. Abdulganiyu (MIFire.E MNSE) has therefore deployed utility vehicles to states Controllers to further facilitate their surveillance
during the elections and as well approved hotlines to report cases of fire or related emergencies before, during and after the elections processes to forestall the occurrence of avoidable fire hazards as the general elections draw closer.”
